existed. Making it to the Elite 8 at NCAAs last season was a huge accomplishment for a second year Nike Zoom Revis program, but with the many goals set by the players and coaches, we plan on going further in the near future.
When it came to developing a new lacrosse program, [Athletic Director] Jeremy Foley promised only the best. I remember sitting around a large table in a conference room when Jeremy Foley presented to several families with his goals and ideas for the new program. He gave us exactly what he had promised, a state of the art facility. Not only do we have a beautiful facility, we have wonderful coaches who continue to push us to limits we never knew Nike Zoom Hyperrev 2016 On Feet
Given the team history, it no surprise the players come into the fall in tip top shape and ready to hit the ground running. As the team hits the meat of its fall practices, here a glimpse into how the team keeps in shape over the summer.

NCAA rules prohibit Werth from working with them over the summer, but players band together and keep each other accountable. And, most Division I athletes are competitive enough not to need outside motivation.
time off, no matter what sport you play, you end up de training, and you putting your body into a position when you start back training you more susceptible to injuries, so we never want to stop them, Werth said.
more I can do before something happens, the stronger they will be and easier to go through rehab if they get injured, Werth said. hopefully, nothing will happen.
I absolutely loved this workout! The harness sprints helped to work on my form and develop a quick first step. This type of drill is important for a lacrosse player because creating a quick first step can help beat defenders, get to a ground ball, and overall help you to become a faster player.
This workout is very challenging. The most difficult part would be the dumbbell step ups. Using a heavy weight, you have to make sure your form is perfect to get the full effect. Stepping high while keeping your toe pointed up really makes a difference. I really enjoyed the single leg squats. Again, you have to go very slowly.
It been well documented how much the Florida women lacrosse team stresses fitness and athleticism from its team members. The team workout routine is second to none in Division I lacrosse, and that shows with the success the young program already has accomplished.
players know the end of August they have some conditioning tests. They don want to embarrass themselves by not doing anything over the summer. They want to impress their coaches at all times, Werth said.
two legged squat, but a single leg squat where we can focus on getting each leg strong by itself. It keeps athletes healthy.
Why this is important: Especially in women lacrosse everything is stop and go. When the whistle blows, we want to be the fastest off that whistle, whether we in the defensive end of the offensive end, we want to be the fastest off that reaction. When we do starts, we focused on being quick off the line. That drill works on the drive phase of sprinting. Basically, you in a forward lean when you start that sprint and as soon as I blow the whistle they driving their knee up quick and pumping their arms and trying to move quickly because they have resistance from someone behind them.
Strength and conditioning coach Karin Werth crafts a plan for the Florida athletes to go into the summer. The workout plans focus on individual weaknesses (a player who struggles to keep up toward the end of practice would have more conditioning, for instance.). They all get a summer training plan that tells them what to do on what days.
Ashley Tips: Take your time! Make sure that you understand the form needed in order to better your first step. Once you get the form down, you can then begin speeding up the sprinting process.
A summer plan allows Florida athletes to come into fall in shape, and most importantly, prevent injury.
Ashley Tips: If you want to make the single leg squats more difficult, use a balance pad under your foot.
Sophomore Ashley Bruns breaks down what she did in her summer routine, and Werth share some tips on why these workouts are good for an offseason athlete.
When I was younger I always enjoyed participating on various sports teams, which led me to my ultimate goal of playing for a DI program. The first time I visited Florida, in the beginning of my junior year of high school, I was immediately drawn to their style of play. Whether it was the intensity of the football team or the poise of the gymnastics team, both exhibited the need for becoming the best.
Why this is important: Any sport that you moving in all directions, you have to have strong single leg framework. Your joints, tendons and muscles in a single leg have to be pretty strong because when you playing a sport you never really doing things together with both feet. You usually pushing off on one leg or the other leg, so we like to train not just a Nike Metcon 1 Colors
