Ford sold 10,610 Falcon sedans last year, a mere fraction of the 73,000 sedans sold by the company a decade earlier.
Mr Kennedy said Mitsubishi had also slumped when it announced it was pulling out of manufacturing and, like Ford, there was a perception that the company was pulling out of Australia all together.
A spokeswoman for Ford Australia said the company was aware of the perception in the community that Ford was pulling out of Australia all together.
Let's try and find another International Car Manufacturer to take over Ford's Australian operations?. India's Tata Motors could be the ideal company to take it over. In 2008, Tata bought Jaguar Land Rover from Ford and at that time, JLR was on the verge of collapse. Under Tata's leadership, Jaguar cars were completely modernised in design, made in different sizes and offer a greater veriety of Engines for Buyers including Diesels. Perhaps Tata did take over Ford's Oz operations and create a Falcon Motor Company and build Falcon Cars using the same Platforms and Engines as the Jaguar cars?. As the new Jaguars are more like a Jaguar ( Cat ) in design, maybe a new Falcon Cars could be more like a Falcon ( Bird ) in design?. Under Tata's ownership, Jaguar cars sales have greatly improved and their Mid size, rear wheel drive Car ( XF) is by far the best selling car. A Mid size RWD Falcon car could be a great seller in Australia and abroad. If Tata did take over Ford's Australian operations and build Falcon cars to the Jaguar Quality and promote them world wide as an Australian equilivent to Jaguar, these Falcon cars could enjoy much stronger sales than the Ford one does.
Mr Kennedy said the car of the moment was the four door "Tonka Toy'' ute, which were selling for as much as $60,000 with accessories.

"And I think we will have a look at how we can change people's perceptions. We are doing it through Facebook and journalists.''
Ford has also quashed any suggestion that the Falcon badge will be placed on another vehicle, after manufacturing ceases in 2016. The Falcon badge will be Nike Zoom Out Flyknit retired, ending a 56 year tradition.
Alarmingly for Ford, sales of the imported Mondeo were also well down, with 40.6 per cent fewer sales in 2013 compared to 2012.
The spokeswoman said the company was keeping a close eye on what people were saying.
have continually reinforced that we are not pulling out of Australia, we are just not going to be manufacturing in Australia any more,'' she said.
"Something that used to cost $19,990 . they are selling a lot of them for $60,000 with every accessory known to mankind.''
In 2012, Ford sold 14,036 Falcons, which was down 25 per cent on the previous year.
