They'd like to do it bigger and better next year with hopefully a repeat of the good weather, he said. He added that the kids had fun and there aren't a lot of venues where they can play a pick up style hockey game.
"Goldy the Gopher" also showed up for an hour during a break between games. Lunch was provided by Bellatoria Pizza and Edina's own Aspire Beverage Company. A raffle also included items like an Edina Hornets T shirt and a No. 7 hockey jersey signed by the Edina High School girls' hockey team.

Quinn loved playing hockey outside in a backyard rink, and the Nike Metcon Repper idea for Quinn's Cup began to form when his former coach suggested a pond hockey event to remember the boy. They were thinking about holding the event at Cornelia Park, but Kyle's friend Chris Rofidal suggested they talk to the city about possibly helping with the event. Although it's been a very difficult year for the Kirsch family, "we're so blessed to have friends, family and strangers to help out," he said, adding that people they didn't even know volunteered to help them put on a great event.
Proceeds from the event benefitted the Myocarditis Foundation. Its founder, Mayo Clinic cardiologist Dr. Leslie Cooper Jr., was also on hand at the event.
