4. No, but you called said person a "asian composite company". I haven't bought either, but I'm pretty sure Haywire is a small, run at home company in the USA.

4. This so called "asian composite company" is actually made by a rather nice member on the forums. As opposed to STX, who I'm guessing makes their products overseas.

could take a sock, market it for $500, and denounce other socks as being 1/100'th the quality. Higher price doesn't mean higher quality product.

stumped. But anyway touching on what swizzle said the best way to describe it is like cracking a whip or casting a fishing pole, threes just a little snap through at the top. Obviously its not even close to as noticeable as a whip or fishing pole but it's definately there and I like how it feels haha it might help on stick checks too absorbing some of the impact but again nothing super noticeable

2. From my calculations, a Alliance shaft weighs 158 grams and a Haywire High Flex weighs 190 grams. That's a .77oz or 22 gram difference.

4. I never said he/she is not a nice person. True Temper makes the Alliance, they are based in Memphis. Call me crazy but I have more faith in them than those other guys.

3. Haywire shafts are made out of freaking Carbon Fiber and Kevlar, they must be pretty darn durable. Also, you can get 2 for much less than a Alliance.

.77oz roughly equals three quarters of a piece of bread.

3. There is also fiberglass in these handles, in all composite handles. It is the ratio of fiber glass to carbon fiber that makes them weigh less and still hold up. Carbon fiber is also way more expensive than fiber glass. Knowing the Alliance is 20% lighter I would guess they use more carbon fiber than Haywire. Hints the price difference.

It doesnt really matter, its all about preference. All I was trying to say is that I like the Alliance more.

My son has the Alliance 135 and it definitely changes the feel of the shot/pass, perhaps giving it a bit more speed. Other differences between metal and composite include differences in reaction to heat/cold (metal seems to heat up more in the sun or be a little colder in the winter), and with the manufacturing process, composites seem to have more variable grip possibilities without having to add an extra substance to the surface of the shaft (like the rubberized grip on some metal shafts). As usual, YMMV. It can't hurt to get a cheap composite stick and try it before investing in a more expensive Alliance product, which, for the record, seems to be a well made product that does what it says it does (flexes predictably).

3. Haywire had the materials posted on here a month or two ago thread has been deleted. I think the materials were about 60 70% fiberglass. That being said, I don't think a bit of extra carbon fiber warrants the $100 price difference.

You're completely right, it is preference. The difference can be compared to buying a Porsche or a Honda; they'll both last, they both run, and you can brag to your friends that you bought a Porsche but it's almost 3 times as expensive as the Honda. Anyway though, I personally love the
